It’s a brand new week… therefore I have brand new tips!
If you haven’t guessed it from the title, it’s about shopping. I promise it will be worth your time.
I buy most of my clothes online and am so thankful that when I do online shopping, I never really have to return anything or have a problem with the items bought (unless it is a manufacturing error such as loose thread or arm length which are
1. Take your time.
I cannot stress enough how many times, I have rushed and bought the wrong size or didn’t add an item to the bag because, I wanted to do it all before the £1.50 next day delivery runs out. In order to save yourself from buying the wrong item or size, set at least an hour to solely browse. This is particularly helpful if you don’t know what to buy or how to go about looking for what you want. When my days allow me, I would firstly write down what I would like to own e.g. slogan tees, boyfriend jeans, sock boots etc and then go through the website’s headings. If I know exactly what I am looking for, I would search the specific item… thank God for that, because I can sometimes get lost on the website or get a little annoyed when I can’t find what I am looking for. Let me know, if I am not the only one.
2. Have a measuring tape on hand.
This is something I have been doing recently and loving. I have a 99p measuring tape that can be found here to measure my waist. Because I am 5″3 and quite petite, it can be hard finding skirts that won’t look like they are about to slide on off, so with that in mind, I double check the sizing chart of whatever website I am on, to make sure I know what I am getting myself into. This tip can be particularly helpful, for buying jackets or blazers if you tend to have long arms.
3. Use apps
Apps like Like to Know It and 21 Buttons were created to help people like you and me to shop via direct links from some of our favourite looks that we find on Instagram. Isn’t that amazing! On Like to Know it, all you have to do is sign up and whenever you like an Instagram of a look you like, you will get sent an email of every item they are wearing and of course, a direct link. 21 Buttons, is quite similar as you can find items with links, but also share a few of your own. I have only started using it and if you would like to follow me, its @monharriee. Some of you may or may not have heard of the website Shoptagr – this website alerts you via notifications of items that go on sale or when they come back in stock. I personally have yet to use this, just because I know this would officially make me a shopaholic… and I still want to hold on to my sanity lol. But regardless, here is a list of all the stores they support.
Happy shopping! And I hope these tips are somewhat useful for you.
