I want to share a little something with you.
When I write, it can sometimes feel like a tug of war with myself and the Holy Spirit. Do you feel like that too?
It can often feel like a physical pull – stepping out of what you usually do. Or a mental pull, where a mini battle in your mind takes place, contemplating a “logical” decision from an “irrational” one. It can even be as small as, having a light conversation with that lady at the bus stop or train, which leaves you thinking, “Did that really just happen?”.
And then, other times you find yourself in a space where you have something to write/draw/sing/act… etc, but then it disappears. You don’t remember anymore. It’s GONE!
‘For I know the plans I
have for you,” declares the Lord,
“plans to prosper you and not to
harm you, plans to give you
hope and a future.’ Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
Jeremiah 29:11 says that, God knows the plans He has for us. Our plans don’t measure up to His. Our plans are no way better than His. It’s impossible!
So today, surrender to the Lord; your plans, desires, goals etc. It will feel weird at first, handing over your “control” to the one who has the Ultimate Control. But better that, than the quote I once came across; Your goal or will that clashes with God’s, will not come to pass.
Lord Jesus, thank you for the great plans you have for me and my life. Thank you for giving me a part to play and a purpose. Help me to seek and put your will above my own, as yours are always the best. For my plans do not compare to what you have in store for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
