“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
During this time of the year; Easter, we get to spend time to get to know and truly understand the cross and what it means. We are very lucky to experience such a time as this. It’s so great that, although the cross has an overall significance for us, we all can interpret it, in different ways; What it means to me, does not necessarily have to be the same for you.
I was listening to a song by Travis Greene, called “Gave it All’ and the words ‘You left heaven, just to get me there’, really resonated with me. Jesus left Heaven, a very comfortable, peaceful place I imagine, to come straight into the mess we live in.
You have always known peace and serenity. Your bed is soft and very comfortable. You have never had a problem with how people treated you. People were polite, without blinking an eyelid or asking for anything in return.
Then you have to get relocated. This new place is messy and full of chaos. The new motto is, “Every man for themselves!” You can’t seem to get a word in, people don’t respect you, they mock you. They doubt you and question who you are. It’s all very different to what you’re used to.
That’s what Jesus did for us. So, that one day, we too would be able to enjoy heaven with him.
Jesus came on a rescue mission, sent by God, to bring us back to the source of hope and get us to heaven. How amazing!
